ABOUT

Jess Southey is a Melbourne based artist/illustrator with a primary focus on graphite portraits, nature and fan art, with a tendency to get carried away with any creative idea using any suitable medium including; oils, gouache, acrylic, knitting, crafting or digital art/graphic design.
Fundamentally her work comes back to connection, nostalgia and the things she loved doing as kid and therefore draws inspiration from films, art/street art, books, comics, memories/sentimental items, flowers/nature and birds from specific locations.
More recently Jess has been focusing on portraits of people who have inspired cathartic moments or a sense of deep connection/understanding through their own art forms or personal stories.
Jess has exhibited in galleries in Melbourne and Brisbane and Oz ComicCon.

Requests for commissions are welcome, please email if you have an enquiry.
